The Ngorongoro Conservation Area has been named Africa’s leading tourist attraction in 2025 by the prestigious World Travel Awards(WTA).
A public statement stated by the Commissioner of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority(NCAA),Abdul-Razaq Badru explaining the award as a result of maintaining the outstanding site’s unique global status.
This accomplishment is due to the visionary leadership of Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of United Republic of Tanzania, whose enthusiasm for conservation and tourism has strengthened Tanzania’s global presence, through internationally acclaimed films.
“This award, and others we have proudly won, remain a testament to our beloved president’s courageous and compassionate leaders,” says Hon Ambassador Dr Pindi Chana, Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism.
The Ngorongoro area was ruined by early man Zinjsthropus who was discovered, and the laetoli footprints, the oldest known human footprints dating back over 3.7 million years.
Other remarkable attraction features include mount Lolmalasin, Tanzania’s third highest peak, Migrating dunes; the ndutu plains which serve as the birthing ground s for thr Great wildebeest migration ancient elephant caves; and the lush northern highland forest, which serves as a crucial wildlife habitat and water sources of Karatu district.
