President Samia's specialist doctors and specialists have begun providing specialist services in six councils of the Njombe Region, with the Regional Administrative Secretary, Ms Judica Omari, urging citizens to come forward in large numbers to receive these services.
The internal medicine, gynaecology , paediatrics, surgery, and throat, ear and nose doctors will provide services from today, May 26-31, 2025, where residents of these areas will receive various services from these experts as part of bringing services closer to the citizens.
Ms Judica has thanked the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, for caring about the health of Tanzanians and the people of Njombe by bringing these experts while commending the Ministry of Health for coming up with this innovation, as many people at the primary level need these services in large numbers.
She said the region is ready to begin the exercise, and citizens have been eagerly waiting for them due to the directors encouraging the exercise.
Ms Judica said that they benefitted greatly from the exercise last year and are grateful for its sustainability, as it has helped citizens access treatment for various diseases and reduced unnecessary referrals.
“You are doing a great blessing, and God bless you very much. I ask you to encourage you; there are various challenges that I believe you are going to solve and bring comfort to the people of this region,” said Ms Judica.
She has called on health workers in the area to cooperate with the experts to help each other solve the various challenges that they will encounter and ensure that the people get the right treatment on time.
“I urge you to dedicate yourself to understanding how to use modern medical equipment so that they can produce results. We want quality. I urge the people of Njombe The government is providing good services; do not run to strange places or on the streets where doctors are. Let's go to get tested correctly and get the right treatment we need for the workforce of our nation,” called Ms Judica.
For her part, the coordinator of the exercise for the Njombe Region, Paschalina Andrew,said that the exercise aims to bring the services to the people closer to their areas so that they do not have the status of following the services of a specialist and a specialist outside their district and region and save time on unnecessary referrals.
And one of the ear, nose and throat specialists from the Iringa Regional Referral Hospital, Dr James Msigwa, said they will be present in all district hospitals in the region with the aim of providing citizens with expert treatment.
